Kuota Brand History
In 1992, Kuota Cycle Corp. Ltd. was established in Italy. For nearly two decades, we raced at the highest level, with WorldTour success and Grand Tour stage victories earning Kuota international recognition as one of the world's leading performance bicycle brands. This is a heritage we remain incredibly proud of and one that will always remain part of our DNA.
In 2013, following commercial challenges faced by the original Italian entity, the Kuota trademark was transferred to its long-standing design and manufacturing partner, who continued to develop and manufacture Kuota products until the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic.
During this period, the decision was taken to pause production and completely modernise the Kuota range. Rather than simply updating existing models, we took the opportunity to start again with a fresh approach, placing a strong emphasis on true one-piece moulded construction. This highly specialised manufacturing process has become one of the defining features of our new collection and is a key point of difference from most major bicycle brands.
In 2022, to support the brand's continued international growth and re-establishment into the market, a new management team with decades of collective experience in high-end carbon fibre engineering, international commercial development and global brand management were granted an exclusive licence to relaunch and operate Kuota worldwide. This is a strategic commercial partnership and does not in any way represent a change in ownership. In fact, the ownership has remained the same since 2013. Since that time, Kuota has had incredible success including WorldTour Teams such as Confidis and various top performing Pro continental teams. The new brief is to build on our legacy, invest in its future while restoring the brand to its rightful place among the world's leading performance bicycle brands.
Like most carbon fibre bicycle brands today, Kuota now manufactures its frames in China. We have partnered with one of the world's most advanced carbon composite manufacturers, a facility that also produces for other leading international bicycle brands and holds military grade certifications for precision and manufacturing consistency.
Our true one-piece moulded construction is one of the most complex manufacturing processes in carbon fibre bicycle production. It requires advanced tooling, highly experienced technicians and an exceptional level of manufacturing precision and expertise. Only a limited number of factories worldwide have the capability to produce frames using this process consistently, making them relatively rare. Today, Kuota offers one of the widest ranges of true one-piece moulded frames on the market.
The results are already beginning to show. TEAM UKYO, who also played an important role in the development of the new range, has already achieved outstanding results competing against WorldTour riders, while feedback from our test riders has been overwhelmingly positive.
Kuota is a global brand with Italian heritage, powered by world-class engineering and led by an international team of experienced cycling professionals and industry experts from Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Is this still the same Kuota? No. This is the next chapter of Kuota. Built on a proud heritage, strengthened by decades of knowledge, manufacturing experience and engineering expertise, this is our most advanced collection to date, developed for the demands of modern cycling and racing.
We are excited to welcome the brand back to cyclists around the world and look forward to welcoming both long standing riders and those discovering Kuota for the very first time.
